Crafted by Nichols Bros. Stoneworks, the Chelsea Trough is made from premium dry cast stone, a material that replicates the look and feel of natural stone while providing superior strength and longevity. Using the Vibrant Tamp Method, zero-slump concrete is densely compacted in rigid molds, producing a weather-resistant planter that withstands the rigors of outdoor use.
Decades of experience refining cast stone mix designs and curing methods have resulted in planters with exceptional durability, abrasion resistance, and freeze-thaw performance. Mid-size and larger pieces are reinforced with galvanized aircraft cable, while flat surfaces and structural elements are reinforced with steel. All Nichols Bros. cast stone products meet the Cast Stone Institute standards for architectural cast stone.
