Artist Susan Regert prefers a realistic approach in her sculptures. Her collection of garden pieces are cut by a plasma cutter from 14-gauge or stronger steel. They are then sent to the greenhouse to start the rusting process. The pieces develop a rusted patina, which continues to change as they weather outside. She feels the natural rust is an understated look for the garden and lets the design be the focus.
Tips from Susan:
Inside use: Susan recommends you spray your item with clear acrylic sealer prior to using one of her collection inside.
Patio use: When placing a sculpture on a patio, it is a good idea to mount the sculpture on a cement paver stone. This helps to prevent rust stains on the patio.
Rusting: The steel has been naturally rusted so it will be dirty to touch! The weathering process takes approximately 6 months after which it will take on a deeper color.
ATTN: Susan will be closing her shop in June 2018, so if you want one of her items, don't wait. Order now.
